“I Just Hadn’t Needed It…”: The Undertaker Reveals How His “Screwed Up” Hall of Fame Speech Took an Unexpected Turn

A long-time serving WWE legend retired in the year 2022. Fans were filled with mixed reactions when the legend made his Hall of Fame speech. ‘The Undertaker’ has served the sports entertainment fans with endless drama and excitement for over 30 years now. He is well-associated with WWE in every way possible. The speech he gave during his Hall of Fame officiation was loved by all the fans. However, there was a certain flaw to it that only the legend himself could recognize. The flaw was so well disguised that it led to a great update in his life. Although that advancement may not be the proudest thing that Mark Calaway can use to describe himself with, WWE lovers surely do love it.

In a recent interview, Calaway, the man behind the iconic character of ‘The Undertaker’, revealed that he had gotten a new gig from the sports entertainment company. The gig actually goes against the character that Calaway had to play in WWE. This may not seem like a huge problem since The Phenom was merely a character that he played. However, according to the legend, he has been playing the role for so long that the traits he possessed are now a part of his personality as well.

As the wrestling legend talks about the failed speech, he also mentions that it is the reason he is still going to be a part of WWE. His Hall of Fame speech was indeed legendary. However, according to the ‘Taker of Souls’, he “kinda screwed up.” The speech did not go as planned. The funny part started when he mentioned that a week or so later, he received a call from Bruce Prichard, a member of WWE’s corporate team. On the call, he introduced the idea of the talk show that Calaway will be getting.

“‘Where’s that been?’ I was like, I guess it’s always been there. I just hadn’t needed it,” said The Phenom while talking about the situation backstage. As soon as he was off the stage, people started wondering how he made such an incredible speech. This made him realize that he had an unlocked potential inside him.

Mark Calaway revealed how ‘The Undertaker’ role could be problematic for his new talk show

As mentioned earlier, fans might think that it must not be a problem for Mark Calaway to snap out of this role. However, the role was long-lasting and got embedded in his personality somewhere. The WWE legend is worried that this will cause him some issues during the talk show. This assumption is because The Undertaker was a relevantly silent character.
