The impact Bray Wyatt had on the world of pro wrestling cannot be put into words. Icons like The Undertaker, John Cena, and Dwayne Johnson all praised the rising star for his humbleness and creativity. Unfortunately, life can be cruel at the least expected time. On 24 August 2023, the WWE Universe woke to the news that Wyatt had passed, leaving behind a legacy that cannot be replaced. But what about his close friends like Braun Strowman? How did it impact him?

The bond they had forged was very close and it was only strengthened by the fact that Strowman is the Godfather to one of Wyatt’s children.

Despite debuting on NXT on December 19, 2014, to beat Chad Gable, Strowman’s real debut would be in August 2015. As a new, intimidating member of the Wyatt Family, Strowman stunned the audience. With the family, he grew in popularity, even competing with The Deadman and Kane. There is no denying Wyatt had a massive role to play in Strowman’s success in the WWE, and this made their bond stronger than brothers. While on the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, Strowman explained just how deep this bond went. He said, “I see him all the time; it’s crazy.”

Strowman explained how it was Wyatt who not only mentored him but helped him come out of his shell. The Monster among Men claimed he was bullied during his childhood and told he wouldn’t achieve anything. It wasn’t until Wyatt came in that he found hope in what he did. He continued, “I had a very deep connection with him. I mean I see him, there’s things that remind me of him.”

Murmurs have grown stronger over a new potential Wyatt family faction and those rumors only grew stronger with Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman’s returns.

Currently, Bray Wyatt is back in the forefront, thanks to Uncle Howdy. Since Mania season, the WWE has been teasing the return of a mysterious Wyatt family member. As teased in the Wyatt Documentary, it is clear that Bo Dallas would don a role to pay tribute to his brother.

Strowman was drafted to WWE RAW where he made his return this week to aid Jey Uso. With Rowan signing as well, fans expect the Wyatts to return to Backlash or the RAW after. While a sensitive topic to work on, Strowman’s love for Wyatt would force the WWE to treat the storyline with the respect it deserves. What did you think of the impact Wyatt had on Strowman? What did you make of the Raw star’s words on the deceased star? Tell us in the comments.
