The entire wrestling world is a fan of ‘The Texas Rattlesnake’ Stone Cold Steve Austin. During the course of the attitude era, Austin quickly rose up the ranks and took WWE to global success. This stardom assisted WWE to conquer WCW and become the world’s most famous pro-wrestling company.

Austin has faced many present/future WWE Hall of Famers during his career. However, he never faced Brock Lesnar in his career. The match between The Texas Rattlesnake and The Beast Incarnate would have been a brilliant match for fans and the WWE.

Sometime back Stone Cold Steve Austin appeared on a WWE TikTok QnA session before his Broken Skull Sessions podcast. They shared the video on WWE’s official Twitter too.

When asked about the which current superstar he would like to face, Austin replied, “Brock Lesnar”

WWE had planned Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Brock Lesnar in 2002 at King of the Ring, qualifying rounds. However, the match was later canceled as Austin walked away from the idea of the match.

Stone Cold Steve Austin regrets not having a match with Brock Lesnar

Back in 2002, WWE wanted Stone Cold to have a match against Brock Lesnar at the King of the Ring. However, Brock Lesnar was the upcoming bigger WWE superstar and Vince McMahon wanted Austin to put The Beast over. Austin didn’t like this plan and walked away from the match.

Appearing on a WWE TikTok QnA session transcribed by The SportsRush, Austin said, “I disagreed with it. I never like to blow smoke up my a*s, but guys like myself, like Hogan, and a few others, they don’t grow on trees. So you want to sacrifice what you’ve built up in me? And with no buildup?”

He added, “But that walkout was still total stupidity and hard-headedness on my part. I should have shown up, and that is my biggest regret in the business of pro wrestling.’”

Brock Lesnar was a rookie in WWE at that point. Austin is a wrestler who has always been a part of incredible storylines. Therefore, the Texas RattleSnake would have taken a loss against Lesnar if there was a proper storyline for the match.

Surprisingly, all those years later, Austin wishes he would have done that match without any storyline. He wanted to face Lesnar, but it never happened. That match was later turned into Bubba Ray Dudley vs Brock Lesnar and The Beast Incarnate went to win the tournament.
