Vince McMahon does not work according to anyone else’s timeline. All that truly matters to him is his vision for WWE and for an entity, especially the names, the assets, and the Superstars he is creating from scratch.

Former WWE writer Vince Russo actually confirmed this notion on Writing with Russo. He referred to the time when Shawn Michaels tried to force his way out of WWE’s contract to join WCW, but The Big Man had other plans. He explicitly explained that The Heartbreak Kid will continue to work with WWE till Vince McMahon needed to use him.

“See, bro, this is from Vince’s mouth. And this is when Vince was having similar issues with Shawn. Okay? Vince made it clear to me, no matter how miserable Shawn was. No matter how bad Shawn wanted to go, Vince made it clear to me, speaking for him, ‘We do this on my time. I use you until I want to use you, then if I decide to move on, then we move on. I do this on my time’.”

Therefore, Superstars do not actually get to walk out of WWE’s contract whenever they want to. On the other hand, WWE can and they do release Superstars from their contracts whenever they want to.

Vince McMahon will not let Charlotte Flair leave

During the same episode of Writing with Russo, the former WWE writer explained that if McMahon loves The Queen as Champion, nothing she does will grant her a release.

“You know, bro, if she wound up dissing him, then you’ve got his minions getting him all worked up over it. I’ve seen it. I’ve been there. So, now you’re talking about, ‘We’re just going to torture this girl.’ That’s what you’re talking about, bro.”

Charlotte Flair has caused trouble backstage, and WWE even asked her to leave the building. Moreover, Superstars have revealed that it’s been rather difficult working with her lately. However, WWE has not punished Charlotte Flair or penalized her in any shape or form for her behaviour.

In fact, even when WWE released several Superstars from their contract, the company did not do anything with Flair’s contract. One of the only ways Flair can get an early release, if she wants one, is if Vince McMahon sells the company.

Is The Big Man selling WWE?

Recently, there have been rumours that McMahon is releasing bulk Superstars from their contract because he is selling the company. Hence, the idea for him is to maximize his profits and show outstanding books for WWE’s revenue and profit before selling WWE.
