John Cena has made a long journey in WWE to become a pro-wrestling veteran. Today he is a wrestler turned actor along with being a decorative WWE superstar who has won 16-WWE champions in his name. 

Recently, John Cena appeared on In the Envelope podcast of the YouTube channel Backstage. He revealed in his younger days in WWE; he thought veterans were lazy. This conversation came up when Cena was talking about how the movie veterans and directors give him tips to improvise his acting.

Cena on the podcast said, “Again I’m so sorry I draw all things back to WWE. But I plan a lot of stuff that I do. Anyone who works with me it’s, I used to think WWE veterans were lazy. When they said I’ll see you out there we’ll just figure it out there. They weren’t lazy, they were sharp, and they understood that it’s a moving beast out there and your timing has to be better than your flawless choreography.”

He added, “It’s how sharp you do something it’s exactly when you do it. But you have to know your story, okay the story of this match is, I’m gonna beat the hell out of you, you’re not gonna do anything, I’m going to win because we’re trying to make you look strong. I can do that in 25 minutes, I can do that in 3 minutes.”

John Cena went on to think the veterans are lazy to realize his thinking was wrong regarding them to himself now become a veteran in WWE. Cena has given tips to many young generation wrestlers about how to be in WWE and the matches.

John Cena says the story must be an on point for a veteran

While discussing his thoughts about the WWE veterans being lazy, John Cena also shared the story must be on point. He stated in WWE if the story is best; it was easy for the veterans to make the opponent go over the crowd. 

Cena said, “If the story is okay, it’s an equal opportunity contest then I severely break the rules to establish that I have a better performer which I’m not because I was dastardly to do that, and then we get to the point we’ve had too much and I’m too c**ky and here you come and you win. Well, you can do that in 5 minutes, that in 60.”

He added, “But as long as you know the way that you can be prepared with a bunch of other stuff that you never use, but as long as you have it sometimes the director, sometimes Vince, or the powers of beetle, I just need you to go out there and be big. But I still got a bunce of ammo in case I need it.”

John Cena certainly respects all the veterans now, since he himself is a veteran. The tips he got from veterans, be it in WWE or Hollywood, has helped him climb the ladder of success that he has achieved today.
