“When an employer hires you, you agree on a certain amount, right? So as an employee you can’t be mad that you don’t get any raise. You can be mad always at your employer. The same thing applies here. When they signed me they never they are going to push me. They never said ‘Hey you signed this contract back in FCW, we’re going to push you to the moon'”.

On top of that, Rusev is rather thankful that he was a part of the company. One of the primary reasons for this is he met his wife, CJ Perry (Lana) when he was in WWE. Not only did he meet his wife but also lived his dream of traveling the world. Therefore, today he holds no bitter feelings towards the company and has moved on to other goals and aspirations.

“When you think about it, if I was not there I would have never met CJ. That alone, it just gives me good feelings just thinking about that. If nothing else, just that I know my wife that’s more than enough and on top of that, living my dream and traveling the world.”

Rusev had his fair share of frustration with the company. However, he did not allow that to anchor his life. He was happy before joining, when he was getting fired, and even today, he is happy.

“I’m happy, I’m not miserable at all. I’m happy. I was happy the day I got fired, I’m happy still, and I’ll be happy tomorrow.”

Needless to say, there is no sour feeling that he holds against WWE.
