Almost every person in their childhood must have faced some sort of bullying. The former WWE Raw Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch, had to go through the same issue while growing up. Becky Lynch looks back on her difficult childhood
Lynch was the special guest on episode 12 of The Tommy Tiernan Show. During the show, the host asked her whether she had gone through any struggles in her early days as a child. The female wrestling star answered in the affirmative. Then she shared why she was bullied as a kid.

She began her answer by saying that, as she was plump and chunky as a child. So the other kids used to tease her and bully her because of her physique. She elucidated, “I was a chubby kid and so I was teased a lot and bullied a fair amount.”
This is not the first time the 36-year-old star opened up about her being bullied. She has previously shared her story in a ‘WWE Story Time: Becky Lynch battles a bully’ episode. But now she has overcome her past and wrestling played a big role in helping her define herself as a brand new person.
Wrestling was instrumental in her transformation
During the interview, the current Women’s Tag Team Champion also spoke about how wrestling helped her to change her life. She stated that in wrestling, a person can choose whoever or whatever he/she wants to be. The world of pro wrestling allows a person to “rewrite history a little bit in a way.”
In Lynch’s words, wrestling aids an individual to “be that badass, be that tough cookie.” She has come a long way from her past and buried her childhood trauma. She is a mom now, and being a victim herself, she knows how a kid feels when he/she has to go through what the former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion faced in her past.

That is why she always tries to spread awareness among the young ones about the importance of being strong and facing bullies rather than being intimidated by them. She was also a part of an anti-bullying campaign, ‘Call out bullying’ started by NSPCC and WWE in November 2018.
