As WWE veterans, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Kurt Angle have a lot of things in common. Unfortunately, one such thing is devastating neck injuries, which restricted them from taking on particular manoeuvres. One of them was the pile driver.
However, during their feud, Austin delivered a pile driver on Kurt Angle, which was astonishing for the WWE Universe. Hence, a fan finally asked why Angle and Austin went ahead with the move knowing how it could affect his neck injury.
Kurt Angle explained he knew Austin’s method of working and had faith that he would execute it in a way that wouldn’t hurt Angle.

“You know what? I trusted Austin, I have only done it twice in my career. I was always told not to do, I wasn’t allowed to do it, but Austin talked me into it, and I trusted him because he is a really safe worker.”
Moreover, Kurt Angle explained how Stone Cold Steve Austin executed the pile driver. That made it easier for Angle to take the impact and did not add further injury to his neck.
“But I did take it with him. But Austin doesn’t jump in the air when he does it.. he just goes from his feet and sits down. So, it’s less impact. He kept his knees bent, so my head wouldn’t hit the ground, and I did it with Eric Young in TNA once too, but I trusted those guys wholeheartedly, but that’s one thing that’s I’m not supposed to take because of my neck injuries.”
