“I Will Honestly State…”: Paul Heyman Has a Major Complaint Surrounding Roman Reigns’ Tribal Chief Gimmick While Hyping the WWE Universal Champion

Roman Reigns and The Bloodline are currently the hottest products in pro wrestling. For the past two and a half years, Reigns has left the entire locker room in shock with his terrifying antics and dominance. His urge to be acknowledged by everybody has sent him on a path of rampage.

The Tribal Chief has gone on to retain the championship for more than 800 days and still looks to be going strong. Sami Zayn is the next challenger for Reigns’ WWE Undisputed Universal championship. At the Elimination Chamber, it will be Zayn going off against Reigns in Montreal.

Back in 2020, WWE fans were left shocked to their core when Roman Reigns returned and joined forces with Paul Heyman. Heyman joined hands with The Tribal Chief and helped him reach new heights of success.

Recently, while speaking to Variety, Heyman spoke about his pairing with The Bloodline, the faction’s current storyline, and also how it irks Heyman that people and fans do not acknowledge Roman Reigns enough. He also further elaborated on a complaint surrounding Reigns’ Tribal chief character.

What did Paul Heyman say about Roman Reigns’ Tribal Chief gimmick?

The Tribal Chief gimmick is one of the strongest and dominating gimmicks in a long time.

Speaking to Variety, he compared Reigns’ gimmick with that of top characters played by other stars in the entertainment industry. He said, “I will honestly state that I’ll put Roman Reigns and his portrayal of the Tribal Chief up against anybody right now in how he has approached a reality-based character of the top star of the industry.”

However, The Wiseman further expressed his disappointment. He expressed his concerns about people not recognizing Roman Reigns for his excellent portrayal of the character and not rewarding him with an award. The Bloodline and Roman Reigns are currently at the top of their game, and it can well and truly be termed as peak sports entertainment.

What is planned for Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39?

Cody Rhodes won the 2023 Royal Rumble and challenged Roman Reigns for a championship match at WrestleMania 39. However, prior to that Reigns would go one-on-one with Sami Zayn at the Elimination Chamber 2023.

Dave Meltzer had revealed that previously, when The Rock was rumored to return, WWE had plans to introduce a new World title for Night 1 of the event. And have Reigns defend his other title on the following night. However, ever since Johnson cancelled his comeback plans, WWE rebuked its idea for a second title. And Reigns would be defending both of his titles against Cody Rhodes on Night 2 of WrestleMania 39.
