Vince McMahon is a man who is known for his contribution to professional wrestling. Not only has the man given his entire life to this role, but he also might still be very far from retiring. At 76, he ran WWE as their chairperson and CEO until the alleged hush-money case popped up. His creative and analytical vision for the company has seen many ups and downs. But the last few years have shown that WWE can make big profits from anything.

However, as a normal human being, one might wonder how the boss keeps up with all this. For 50 years of his entire existence, McMahon gave everything to WWE and wrestling. He involved his wife, his children, his in-laws, and everyone else in this business.

But, recently, a former Undisputed WWE Champion and AEW Champion revealed that McMahon wanted to take a break from the industry.

Chris Jericho reveals Vince McMahon’s feelings about being the boss for so long

In an episode of True Geordie podcast, Chris Jericho was asked about the Vince McMahon scandal. He said, “I think that it’ll come and go. And once again, is it morally right? Absolutely not. Is it illegal? No. Is it something that is going to get him in real trouble? I don’t think so.”

Because once again, unfortunately, [people will say] ‘Oh, it’s just Vince McMahon. Oh, it’s just wrestling. Of course, he’s going to do that.’ So you know, those things come and go and they happen. And it’s too bad. But I really think it doesn’t really matter in the long run. And, you know, six months from now, I’ll either be right or I’ll be wrong.

I remember when I left in 2005, I needed to get away and he said to me, ‘I wish I could get away sometimes, but I can’t’ like kind of wistfully for like three seconds, and he was back to [being] Vince McMahon. Like, of course, it’s hard to do this job,” Jericho added.

The legacy Vince McMahon will leave behind

The trail that McMahon has left behind until now is laid with diamonds and pearls. But to achieve that amount of success, he had to cross some major hurdles in his path. The first of them was the traditional territory rule. While he took his promotion from New York to other places, the other promotions were very critical to it.

But he made his way out and got people to watch wrestling on television. While in the olden time, it might have been amazing to watch it live, as today’s generation gets their wrestling through TV. But that algorithm is also shifting. As draws per superstar are now counted by taking in the amount of their YouTube views on the WWE channel. And thus Vince McMahon kept developing wrestling with the times.
