Ever since turning into a baddie, Dominik Mysterio has done a stellar job at generating heat. Fans cannot help but get annoyed by his outrageous antics. In fact, a former WWE superstar has recently joined the bandwagon.

Mysterio accompanied ‘Mami’ Rhea Ripley to this week’s edition of SmackDown. Not only did he confront his dad but also managed to get into the bad books of Charlotte Flair. Turns out that he has irritated another wrestler as well. And that too a former tag team champion with WWE. 

Former WWE superstar shoots on Dominik Mysterio

Buddy Mathews aka Buddy Murphy mentioned The Judgement Day member in his social media post. He tweeted, “If “Dom-Dom” keeps running his mouth I might be getting the same prison experience as him!”. Mathews is certainly alluding to the prison life that Mysterio supposedly claims he has experienced. He recently mentioned it again during a backstage segment with ‘Papa Rey’ and Santos Escobar on SmackDown.

The fact that a performer from a rival promotion is acknowledging a WWE character can be counted as a success in itself. It also signifies the limitless reach of the gimmick and how well has Dominik carried the character. WWE would be hoping to make it even bigger and better in the coming days.

An old foe to the Mysterio clan

Matthews is no stranger to coming across the Mysterio clan. He, along with Seth Rollins, was involved in a feud against the father-son duo. The performer was also involved in a kayfabe love angle with ‘Dom’s” real-life sister Aalyah Mysterio,which later turned him into an ally of the family. He was future endeavored by the WWE in 2021. Matthews is currently contracted to AEW.

As mentioned earlier, Junior Mysterio also had a face-off with his dad Rey Mysterio at the blue brand. He interrupted and cost the latter the match against Karrion Kross. The third-generation superstar tried to instigate his father to hit him. But the ‘Master Of 619’ decided against it after giving it a thought.

A WrestleMania 39 encounter seems to be where this familial dispute is heading to. It would also be interesting to see how long Rey Mysterio restrains himself from getting physical with his son.

Fans have gotten behind the ‘heel Dom’. And to his credit, he has not disappointed them so far.
