Sheamus boasts on Twitter

On May 18, 2021, Sheamus put out a tweet that read, ..show me a champion that looks better with a title & i’ll laugh at your best.. #USChampion #thefella”

The ‘Celtic Warrior’ issued an open challenge to the roster and asked them to show a better champion than him. Sheamus also attached a picture of himself with the WWE United States Championship belt around his waist.

He looks absolutely stunning, and the belt is befitting for a veteran wrestler such as himself.

The fans show their champion

Of course, the WWE Universe will not be quiet after such a declaration from the ‘Celtic Warrior’. They quickly took to Twitter and a tsunami of replies came Sheamus’ way.

We have picked a few that caught our eye. One fan photoshopped every men’s championship in WWE onto the ‘Rated-R Superstar‘ Edge.

We can see Edge holding every accolade ranging from the Money in the Back to the WWE Universal Championship. Sheamus responded with a GIF of Shaquille O’Neal laughing.

Another fan picked Hornswoggle as a better champion than him. Sheamus replied with another GIF, this time with a little girl falling down on the floor while laughing.

These were only a couple of tweets from the hundreds of replies the ‘Celtic Warrior’ got for his statement. Staying true to his word, Sheamus laughed at each and every one of the replies he received. Well, maybe, except for this one.

Is Sheamus the best?

We will not argue on Sheamus’ claims of US Championship greatness, but we can definitely agree that he has helped in the rising popularity of the championship. Over the years, the United States Championship seemingly lost its previous glory, mostly because of the introduction of newer championships and higher stakes.

If the fan-favorite wrestler isn’t competing for the title, then it is bound to lose its prior value. The ‘Celtic Warrior’ has done an incredible job in pulling the fans’ interest back to the title.
