“I’m a Huge Fan” – Jeff Hardy Says He Sees His Younger Self in This WWE Raw Superstar

Jeff Hardy has solidified his legacy in the world of pro-wrestling and has nothing much to prove to the fans. However, he confessed that he still gets “nervous” while competing with a younger star on the WWE roster that reminds him of his younger days. That superstar is the current WWE United States Champion, Damian Priest.

Hardy recently fought Priest and Sheamus for the US Championship on the WWE Extreme Rules PPV. Priest performed admirably in the fight and successfully retained his championship against the two elite wrestlers.

Jeff Hardy is impressed with the accolades of Damian Priest

Prior to his triple threat match at the Extreme Rules PPV, ‘The Charismatic Enigma’ appeared on ‘The Bump’ podcast. There Hardy talked about his match against Priest and Sheamus for the United States Championship.

During the podcast, Hardy vouched for the talented Priest and confessed it feels like he is fighting his own younger reflection. Hardy even went on to say that he is scared and nervous whenever he performs with younger fighters like Priest.

“Damian Priest, I am a huge fan of him and he has been on fire lately, man. We actually got to team last night, and it was amazing. He reminds me a lot of my younger self.”

“So that’s what’s kind of scary and intimidating and all that good stuff that creates a wonderful match, so I’m looking forward to getting in there with Damian and Sheamus at the same time. It’s going to be insane.”

“It is weird. That’s why when I wrestled him on Raw a few weeks ago, I was just as nervous. If he was nervous, as he was. Because, man, I’m a fan of him. I’m a fan of pro wrestling in general.” [h/t: Fightful]

Damian Priest won the US title at the SummerSlam PPV in a hard-fought battle with Sheamus. Priest created history when he won the title by becoming the first Puerto-Rican born to win a championship in WWE.
