The Undertaker did not want to reveal his true self
In an interview, he explained how he felt once he pulled back the curtains on ‘The Deadman’ character. WWE conducted a documentary with various glimpses and clips of the man behind the mask.
“I’ve been in the wrestling business for over thirty years, thirty years with WWE. But I’m a notoriously old school guy. And you know, talking about business so openly and even to this day I’m fighting this urge to calm up and not talk about it.”
Considering he had held the character for thirty years without breaking it once, it’s understandable why he did not want to open up.
“The old school wrestler is like ‘you should go back and pull the curtains shut and tell everyone you’re not home’. It’s been a mix of both.”
‘The Deadman’ has been a phenomenal change for WWE
All of his fans have been in awe of him since the time he debuted at Survivor Series thirty years ago. Whether it was the way he conducted himself in the ring or the way he walked up to it, everything was splendid.
