“I’m So Sorry”: Former WWE Champion Was Consoled by In-Ring Rival After His Abrupt Loss to Brock Lesnar in 2019

Brock Lesnar is arguably one of the fittest and most dangerous athletes in the world of combat sports. The Beast Incarnate has had one of the most descriptive careers in the entire industry. After starting out as an amateur wrestler, he tried his hands at professional wrestling, then football. He also became an MMA fighter before switching back to pro wrestling. After making his debut for WWE back in 2002, he asserted his dominance in the entire industry. Over the years, Lesnar has established himself as one of the toughest opponents inside the squared circle. His MMA and amateur wrestling-inspired move set are tough to mess with.

Back in 2019, Brock Lesnar defeated Kofi Kingston under a few mere minutes to win back his WWE Championship. Kofi Kingston’s loss to Lesnar was seemed as rather disappointing after his successful run at the company with the World Title. Kingston had won the title from Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35.

After several successful title defences, Kingston lost to Lesnar. Many criticized his loss to Lesnar. Former RAW Tag Team Champion Dax Harwood, however, once opened up on Kingston’s loss and how he spoke to him about this.

Harwood stated that he texted in their group chat, where both The New Day and FTR were present. He stated that he was very upset to hear the news, and it had nothing to do with Lesnar. The 38-year-old said, “I apologized to him and said, ‘I’m so sorry this happened to you, man. We’re so upset. I can’t believe this is for real.” 

He would further appreciate how hard Kingston worked.

Kofi Kingston and The New Day are one of the most popular and friendly WWE personalities. He is extremely well known and maintains a good relationship with almost everybody. However, despite a good crowd reaction and a strong booking, Vince McMahon buried him under Brock Lesnar.

Dax Harwood revealed that entire WWE locker room was hurt due to Kingston’s loss. However, they still went that way since McMahon had it planned. He said, ” It broke all of our hearts that that’s where the championship was being taken because, not anything to do with Brock, but because Kofi had worked so hard”

Kofi Kingston lost the championship with Brock Lesnar after a reign that lasted for 180 days and was an extremely strong reign as well.
