“Dear Mister Rock, my name is Angelou, I’m five years old.” A young fan of Dwayne Johnson wrote a heart-warming letter to the People’s Champion from Christchurch, New Zealand. The Rock reverted to the young fan’s message on his Instagram along with a shoutout to a global movement.

Angelou Brown sent the Rock a heart warming and intensely emotional letter about a global movement started by his father. His father, Matt Brown, started the ‘She Is Not Your Rehab’ movement. It is an anti-violence movement birthed from a barbershop.
The movement is based on preventing violence against women in New Zealand and the world. Matt was inspired to begin the movement, since he did not want women to suffer the same fate that his mother, Angelou’s grandmother suffered.
“I’m very proud of you, son. You don’t understand yet, because you’re too young but just know how courageous and inspiring you are to myself and our AIGA, but now – to the world,” said The Rock.

Angelou’s cousin helped him write the letter, in which he jokes about how all Samoans are related. The Rock also gave a very strong message to the young boy.
“You stay strong, Angelou and keep listening to your Nana and your parents. One day you will become the leader of your aiga and also a leader the world will admire.”
The movement is united across the world via a simple shirt. It simply reads, ‘She is not your rehab’, but sends a powerful message to victims of abuse and even abusers across the world.
“Men, we need to stop treating our women like rehabilitation centres. She is not your rehab! Your childhood trauma wasn’t your fault but your healing now is your responsibility.” This is the message of the movement.
