

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson caught the attention of the WWE Universe in his Survivor Series debut in 1996. And his performance that night set the stage for him for the rest of his WWE career.
Almost three months after his match at the 1996 Survivor Series, he bagged the Intercontinental Championship and became the youngest Intercontinental Champion in the history of WWE.
Recently, during the Megasode of Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard Podcast on AdFreeShows.com, Prichard revealed the reason behind Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson getting his hands on a championship so early in his WWE career.

He said, “He was going to be the youngest champion. And we felt that he had a little bit of momentum. And thought that maybe putting a championship on him may help accept him even more. It just would take him to the next level. That was the idea behind it, just be able to nudge him along.”
The Rock defeated Triple H to win the Intercontinental Championship on Monday Night Raw on February 13, 1997. However, after some successful title defenses, The Rock lost the championship to Owen Hart in April 1997 during an episode of Raw Is War.

Is Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson going to return to WWE?
The Rock is a fan favorite in WWE and the WWE Universe will definitely love to see The Rock appear once again in WWE.
But it looks like they will have to wait for some time till they get to see The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment appear in WWE once again.

Considering his upcoming projects and films, it looks like he has got a busy schedule. Thus, it is less likely that he will appear in WWE soon.
However, his love and passion towards WWE and the fans is a secret to none. Thus, once his Hollywood schedule lightens, fans can definitely expect Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to return to WWE after a long time.
