WWE Universe has been awaiting some changes in the roster ever since Vince McMahon infamously returned to the creative following the Endeavor takeover. It seems like the evolution in the roster is about to hit the room with WWE reportedly having a big plan for a not-so-popular NXT star, Von Wagner.

The 28-year-old has been performing in the WWE ring since 2019. The current developmental brand’s performer, Wagner, has faced several big stars, including Carmelo Hayes, Solo Sikoa, and a few more, but hasn’t really stood out.

Triple H has a fair record of pushing many former NXT stars into the main roster. It looks like Wagner comes next on his list.

Fans take a jab at WWE for planning a major push for Von Wagner

Dave Meltzer’s latest report says WWE possibly plans to feature the NXT star in WrestleMania main event at some point. Despite the company’s higher-ups’ firm faith in Wagner’s potential to be the main attraction of the classic showcase event of wrestling, fans are visibly unhappy with the decision.

They rushed to the comment threads to launch a sharp attack on the young promising star who isn’t worthy of a main event push anytime soon, according to most of them.

A few of them kept WWE’s reported plan.

Some of them referred to McMahon’s return as a potential reason behind this bizarre decision of the Stamford-based company’s officials.

However, even if fans were extremely inconsiderate of Von Wagner as a potential main event contender of WrestleMania 40, they have some legit logic to back it up.

Fans are doubtful of Wagner’s potential for his persistent declining performance

On the April 11 episode of NXT, Wagner received a devastating defeat against Ilja Dragunov. Moments later, his manager, Mr. Stone, left him as per the previous ultimatum of the match.

It’s pertinent to note that Wagner wasn’t able to clinch a single win in WWE’s Tuesday night show since his November 2022 victory against Malik Blade. He, in fact, won just two out of his last 30 matches. That alarming losing record eventually pushed his manager to abandon him last week.

In the April 18th episode, Wagner attempted to stop his manager but ended up being openly berated inside the WWE Performance Center. He also underwent a significant character change that might be a factor to enable him to show his charismatic side that he otherwise used to keep suppressed.

However, we are yet to see if the latest report comes out true and changes the 28-year-old’s waning career for the better or if it eventually gets lost in the wave of rumors.
