Eric Bischoff regrets putting Hulk Hogan in the main event

In a shoot interview, Eric Bischoff said, “In retrospect at that time, having Hulk Hogan in the main event still mattered, it mattered a lot to our pay-per-view distributors. Because that’s how they determine how much promotion they’re going to give things.”

Further, Bischoff added, “They’re going to promote events that they have the highest confidence in and they’ll promote events less that they have less confidence in and for the pay-per-view companies having Hulk Hogan in the main event provided a lot of confidence which means they would promote us more. So that was the reason from a business perspective but from a creative perspective, and one could argue a long-term kind of strategy, it was a mistake”.
