The Undertaker has spent more than three decades in the wrestling industry and his name usually comes up whenever someone talks about the wrestling world. And the same happened recently when an AEW star remembered his days at WWE.

Recently, Matt Hardy talked about a moment in his podcast ‘Extreme Life of Matt Hardy’ when he ended up rubbing The Phenom wrongly, because of his “dumb move”. He said that he acted dumb as he was frustrated but learned a great lesson from it.

The story behind Matt Hardy’s heat with The Undertaker

The story goes back to 2005, at the Survivor Series pay-per-view of that year. The Undertaker made his shocking return and attacked former WWE champion Randy Orton. The segment ended up in a huge in-ring brawl, during which Matt Hardy made his comeback. However, he didn’t react how he was supposed to and it made The Undertaker angry. The reason behind Hardy’s inappropriate behavior was his frustration with the creatives.

Recalling the moment, Matt said, “We went out there, we did that and I was planning on powdering out. But there was a part of me, that was just so frustrated. And once again it was my fault, I will be accountable for it. Just when Taker came out I was like laying on the ropes. And I didn’t react to him like I should have.

He further added, “Looking back, I was like what a dumb move that was and I was just like mad because I didn’t get my spot, once again, which was very dumb. It was a great lesson for me to learn. Like if you are going to do anything, go all in on it.”

Matt was supposed to be in the five-on-five survivor series match. However, for some reason, he was dropped from the match and it didn’t go down well with the former tag team champion.

Currently, The Deadman is enjoying his retirement and is busy shopping for sneakers and doing the things he loves other than wrestling. As for Matt Hardy, he is working in AEW. Matt Hardy is feuding with ‘The Elite’ and during the AEW Rampage, he, along with Isiah Kassidy, and Ethan Page challenged ‘The Elite’ for the World Trios Titles. Hardy will now look to add them to his already glittering resume.
