Cody Rhodes on still getting a huge response from the fans

In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, the 37-year-old WWE star shared he thought fans would “boo” in WWE. Rhodes was of the opinion, him helping create and wrestle in AEW would let the fans not cheer him at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas. However, he recalled the opposite happened.

Rhodes said, “Well, I think its was so surprising in Dallas showing up. I remember being thinking they might boo me….But I thought maybe this audience will take time, and they received it so warmly. They were so excited and we had some record metrics in terms of adding me to shows and then merchandise stuff, that I was so nice to hear. But the thought for me for being an internal pessimist was well, it’ll fade.”

The former TNT Champion added, “Naturally, it’ll fade and we were in a situation we are it didn’t and now it’s grown. And now we’re kind of putting another position leaving WrestleMania not the champion. That’s the biggest challenge as far as from me to make sure that it’s hot as it has ever been.”

Nevertheless, Rhodes lost against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, which was an highly anticipated match. Many thought he would win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship this year.
