“It’s a Tough Situation for Him”: Triple H Reveals Final Conversation With Vince McMahon Before Taking Creative Control From Him

Vince McMahon recently retired from WWE after allegations of hush money payment rose against him. Stephanie McMahon, Triple H, and Nick Khan took over several top positions in the company after his retirement.

Various people have claimed the former CEO of WWE as a genius. However, he has also been the victim of various sorts of criticism for his orthodox methods. Vince McMahon’s guidance gave birth to several top stars.

Superstars such as Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, The Rock, The Undertaker, and Stone Cold Steve Austin, to name a few. Several of these stars were a driving force behind the company’s success. Similarly, under Triple H, various other stars also climbed the ladder of success. Names such as Tomasso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Seth Rollins are a few of them.

Recently during the Ariel Helwani Show, The Game of Game opened up about the passing of the torch moment, when Vince McMahon retired and Triple H took over as the Head of the Creative.

Helwani asked him about that specific moment, any final conversation they had or any note Vince McMahon left for him. The Game stated, “He did. You know, look in some manner, I think for the both of us. It’s a tough situation for him and I think in some manner like it’s even hard for me to picture that now that he’s not in the equation and he’s not in any shape or form.” 

He then emphasized on the fact that it would have been hard for Vince McMahon to see someone else come in and do what he had been doing for the last 50 years.

Triple H said, “It’s hard to, sort of hard to think about that he’s not there and I think in that moment hard for him to think about it hard for him to think about somebody coming in and doing what he’s done for the 50 years or whatever successfully better than anybody in the world.” 

McMahon had told Triple H, “You got this. Just be confident in your decision making. Be you know, listen to people, be open to ideas, be collaborative with other people and things like that. It was just wonderful advice.”

It was further revealed by the 53-year-old that although Vince McMahon is his father-in-law, he can always look up to him for guidance. He stated, “That guidance is a wealth of knowledge and the thing is in our positions now with myself, and Steph and Nick Khan. And there’s so many other people that are such an integral part of WWE.”

“He’s built such an amazing team for all of us that it’s, you know, have such an amazing support system around you. I couldn’t imagine trying to do this if you were sort of by yourself.” 

Triple H continued praising his team and the support system around him. He even stated that having such a wonderful team makes working even more fun.

Retired Vince McMahon sent a special message to Roman Reigns

When Vince McMahon announced his retirement from WWE, people all over the world were shocked. He took to Twitter to announce his retirement from his position and the sport.

Roman Reigns recently revealed during a podcast session with Sports Illustrated, Reigns revealed that Vince McMahon had sent him a special message post his retirement. Reigns said, “You know, it was just hard to believe because I think, along with anyone who’s followed this business or been in this business, Vince is gonna be running this. I’m going to be long gone and I’ll be 20 years retired and Vince is still running the show.”

Reigns further stated that, “So I think that was just, ‘Okay, we’ll see in six months or something like that’, was kind of the mindset that I initially took. Then we received the talent relations text message, and then obviously a personal message from him and we talked a little bit.” 

Vince McMahon’s retirement came out as a shock and at a point when no one was expecting it. However, after the shift in power, things till now have been going well for the company. The Creative team under Triple H continues to receive high praises as well.
