John Cena‘s undying passion for wrestling has helped him to stay relevant in the business for a long time. The Super Cena that once used to dominate WWE, has diluted with time given the emergence of Cena’s rousing Holywood career. That said, it didn’t mar his furor among WWE fans even a bit. Fans continue to imitate his iconic ‘you can’t see me move whenever the sixteen times World Champion pops up in front of their eyes. But does getting the same reception from fans for decades become somehow monotonous to the Fast X star?
Well, it’s a big no-no for the 46-year-old. That said, he thinks an alternative identity rising to the rank of the same fame will only add to his glory. With due respect to his WWE gimmick, Cena deems ‘Peacemaker’ as a great option to make people crack up over it.

John Cena holds his ‘Peacemaker’ role to equal status with his phenomenal WWE gimmick
James Gunn made good use of Cena’s abundant charisma in 2021’s superhero film, Suicide Squad. Cena’s flawless portrayal of the Peacemaker was such a hit that it promoted the DC Universe to start a spin-off TV series. Amid the rumors of second season swirling, Cena revealed a new hope regarding his stellar character.

During an interview with GQ magazine last year Cena noted, ”If I really want to change perception, I have to take control of that. I have to commit to something as much as I commit to that. To start from square one, and go again — Peacemaker’s been a great vehicle for that.”
”Walking the streets of Bogotá, everybody said “Peacemaker”. Nobody was waving their hand in their face. How cool is that, to be able to live that journey twice? It’s fu**ing unreal”, Cena justified why he picked Peacemaker as the perfect alternative to challenge his good guy WWE gimmick. The Peacemaker character is an anti-hero played by Cena with morally ambiguous decisions to make. This is indeed a far cry from his WWE character.
