WWE let a series of talents slip from the roster in the past year. In the wake of the WWE-UFC merger under parent company Endeavor, more than 100 staff members were fired on September 15th, 2023. The list included Dolph Ziggler who was under contract with the company since 2004.
While the random talent cut-off spree triggered frustration among many, Ziggler’s release from the company made one man leap in joy and he’s none other than the former WWE superstar’s brother, Ryan Nemeth. In a recent candid interview, Nemeth spilled details about how he asked Ziggler to step away from WWE much earlier than when it happened.

AEW’s Ryan revealed provoking Dolph Ziggler to leave WWE for a long time
During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Ziggler’s brother Nemeth shared his painstaking thoughts on getting to work alongside the former WWE superstar. Explaining how he was telling his brother to move on from WWE for a long time, Nemeth noted, “I’ve been telling him to leave WWE for like over a decade now. I think it’s always great to leave and reinvent yourself or leave and just do something else. I’m psyched to tag with him, I’m psyched to do more comedy shows with him.” As a part of his post-WWE schedule, The Showoff joined his brother at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18 entering the Tokyo Dome to take part in a pull-apart brawl against new IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion David Finlay.
”We just shot Wanted Man, which is incredible, and getting a huge positive response to launch his new character…That kind of stuff is what I’m psyched about and you can’t do that kind of stuff when one of you is trapped in a very intense WWE schedule. I’m very excited to start wrestling with him, doing events with him, and shooting more stuff. Nemeth Bros forever, baby’‘ he continued.
Now, given that Ziggler is on the verge of his official debut in the Japanese promotion in a battle with David Finlay for the IWGP Global Championship at New Beginning in Sapporo night one on February 23rd, the excitement is palpable. There are also rumors regarding Ziggler’s potential AEW appearance. Amidst this wild hype, WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam chose to look back at his past excellence and heaped massive praise.

Reminiscing that supremacy, WWE veteran RVD stated that Ziggler was a wrestler who just didn’t outlast everyone but also outworked them, sticking to the business for the long haul. The words of appreciation from the WWE legend will hopefully work as a confidence booster for The Natural before he kickstarts another chapter in his professional wrestling sphere. It remains to be seen how NPJW treats him down the line.
