Dwayne Johnson says there are no drawbacks to fame

With a part-time WWE contract, movies, and business ventures, The Rock has amassed a great deal of fame and fortune. However, he does not believe that fame has any drawbacks.

The Rock posted a video on his Instagram where he addressed a few frequently asked questions fans asked him. One of those questions was about fame and what, if any, are the drawbacks of it. While in his gym, The Rock answered this question while talking about his life and experiences. He began by talking about how he felt that there were no drawbacks to fame.

However, after talking about how fame helped him have a better life, he got into the meat of the matter. He talked about the major downside of fame, which is being spotted everywhere he goes. The Rock first spoke about how he would have to call ahead before leaving his house. Being a massive celebrity, The Rock isn’t allowed to go anywhere without security. However, there would be times when he would leave all by himself. “Everyone’s like ‘Are you sure?’ and I’m going. I’ve had enough of this sh*t,” The Rock said.

Unfortunately, going into public alone isn’t something he can frequently do, as people recognize him easily. He said, “And 10 minutes later, it’s a zoo, and I’m like, ‘Alright somebody call the cops.”

The Rock admitted that there were multiple instances where he would leave his home by himself, without security. This would end with him swamped by fans and needing to call the cops to get him out. Despite joking about fame having no drawbacks, fans of The Rock were not happy about his campaign.

The Maui fires backlash against The Rock and Oprah

As mentioned earlier, thanks to his movies and entrepreneurship, The Rock’s net worth is $800 million. Recently, he teamed up with Oprah Winfrey to promote a campaign to donate money to help those affected by the Maui wildfires. Despite both donating $10 million collectively, the duo was criticized by the public. Many fans felt disrespected that millions like them were asking other people for donations.
