Not a single soul in the WWE Universe expected John Cena to make an appearance at Money in the Bank on July 1. Therefore, when he stepped into the ring, the roar of the crowd filled the arena. His voice boomed over the loudspeakers, announcing a special plan for the UK fans.

He expressed his desire to bring ‘The Show of Shows’ to London. Next year’s WrestleMania is already scheduled to take place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. But WrestleMania 41 can take place in London as UK Parliament backs ‘The Champ’s plans.

The co-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), Alex Davies-Jones, recently talked about Cena’s WrestleMania plans in London. During an interview with BBC Newsbeat, she revealed that the UK government wants to turn Cena’s plan into reality.

She said, “Nobody predicted John Cena coming out and announcing the possibility of a WrestleMania in the UK. It was utterly incredible. And got the whole place buzzing with excitement about the possibilities of what that could mean for wrestling fans, but also for the UK economy and also for future fans as well. I would love for it to happen.”

She continued to state that members of the parliament have already engaged in discussions about how to make ‘The Showcase of Immortals’ happen in London. She confessed that she and her entire team supports Cena’s ideas and are more than happy to help facilitate him.

If this plan gets approval, then after a very long time, WWE will hold ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All ‘outside the United States. But has there been a historical precedent set with WrestleMania in the past?

In the history of the Stamford-based promotion, the company has held ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Sports Entertainment’ only two times outside the US. The first WrestleMania to take place in another country was WrestleMania VI. The event happened in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at SkyDome on April 1, 1990.

The second WrestleMania that didn’t happen in America is WrestleMania X8. On March 17, 2002, WWE held the year’s biggest event, at the same Canadian location as in 1990. If the 16-time World Champion can bring WrestleMania to the UK, he could potentially solidify his status as the GOAT.
