To achieve this amount of mass appeal and charisma, Cena had to do many jobs. But no one could have guessed that Cena would have done this job to survive during his bodybuilding days.

John Cena did a shocking job when bodybuilding wasn’t paying off

When Cena appeared on Jimmy Kimmel, the host asked Cena about an interesting profession that he worked in California. That profession was the bouncer for Sharky’s Bar in Southern California. Cena goes on to tell his hilarious stories from his time working as a bouncer. First, he mentioned barring people from entering the bar if they didn’t have an ID. He tells the audience that sometimes 60-year-olds would come but he had to send them away because they didn’t have IDs.

Another thing that he mentioned was the pay that he got from this gig. Getting only $50 a night, Cena would depend on this job and the pizza place next door when bodybuilding wasn’t paying off very well. But who knew that the days spent here would support Cena up until Vince McMahon picked him up and made a star out of the guy? Now he is a Hollywood actor, in his peak era, and a legend in WWE already and it all started by working as a bouncer at a random bar in California.
