John Cena Heaps Praises on 43-Year-Old Arch-Rival While Comparing Him With Another Former Nemesis: “Makes Difficult Look Simple”

WWE Superstar John Cena praised a 43-year-old, former WWE Champion for their remarkable achievements inside and outside the ring. Cena expressed his heartfelt respect for his arch-rival, emphasizing the immense impact he had in WWE. 

Randy Orton has fought some great matches in the wrestling world with Cena. Cena and Orton were two of the biggest stars and rivals during WWE’s PG Era. Cena is often all praise for Orton and recently compared The Viper to the legendary Heartbreak Kid. 

A comparison to Shawn Michaels and everlasting rivalry

In a recent interview with WWE on YouTube, Cena compared Orton to his generation’s equivalent of Shawn Michaels. The 16-time world champion highlighted Orton’s qualities, in-ring understanding, and impeccable timing.

He said, “Randy is my generation’s Shawn Michaels. He has an understanding of nuance, and how important it is and, he has the best timing of anybody. [LAUGH] He’s always there. He’s never late. He shows emotion as a performer, he’s incredible. He makes difficult look simple, always.”

The Champ also praised his remarkable emotional expression as a performer. Cena emphasized Orton’s ability to effortlessly tackle challenging moves with ease as compared to his other nemesis. Further in the interview, Cena revisits classic matches against top WWE rivals, including Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, and others.

The Cena vs. Orton rivalry is considered one of the most significant in WWE history, with Orton recognized as Cena’s most prominent rival. Currently, Cena is back in WWE but has transitioned to a part-time role in WWE due to his Hollywood commitments. 

Orton’s last match was in May 2022. Nonetheless, despite their different paths, Cena consistently showers praise on his long-standing rival.
