Cena’s latest WWE return came at the WWE Money in the Bank PPV 2021. He last appeared at the WWE SummerSlam 2021 PPV.

Recently, during an episode of The Pat McAfee Show 2.0, Pat McAfee and Cena talked about the reaction that Cena got from the WWE Universe following his latest WWE return. Pat McAfee claimed he felt really cool getting to watch Cena live and listen to that audience, giving him all the love.

In reply to this, Cena admitted every time he stepped on the campus, he loved it. But it wasn’t exactly all the same reaction before as it was for ‘Summer Cena’.

He said, “That was kind of my first experience where I would say a majority of the audience appreciated my presence there because normally it’s weird. You try to go out and play a character of virtue, a character with the virtuous foundation and people tell you to f**k off.”

“I think that’s what makes WWE beautiful and the live audience so special is because they decide how they feel about characters. You can be a virtuous character and you can be a character built on hard work, loyalty, and respect. You can embody perseverance. And the audience can choose as a collective,” Cena added.

Further, Cena added it challenged him every single night and kept him at his best. He noted he was very thankful for that.
