Johnny Gargano Wins The NXT North American Championship With Some Help From a Spooky Friend

This week’s WWE NXT was a special “Halloween Havoc.” With Shotzi Blackheart as the host, the event had two title matches with North American champion Damian Priest facing Johnny Gargano and Women’s champion Io Shirai facing Candice LeRae. However, there were some spooky interruptions along the way.

The show began with the North American Championship match. Shotzi spun the wheel for a stipulation, and it turned out to be a Devil’s Playground match! No disqualification and falls count anywhere.

Priest started things off as he overpowered Gargano with back-to-back offenses. Priest threw Gargano off the ring as the duo attacked each other again and again.

Gargano went under the ring to bring out a kendo stick while Priest had a pipe. Both men swung their weapons at each other. After a while, Gargano took control and hit Priest with the kendo sticks.

A Masked Man helped Johnny Gargano on WWE NXT

The Archer hit a Broken Arrow over the announce table as they brawled all over the backstage area and used Halloween props and steel cans on each other.

Priest was in control for the most part, and Gargano tried to escape the set. The champ beat him down and got ready for The Reckoning, but someone in a Grim Reaper costume appeared with a steel bar!

The masked man’s attack put Damian down, and Johnny took advantage. The reaper handed Gargano a tombstone from the set that Johnny attacked the champ with. The Champ laid flat on the ground as Johnny Gargano pinned him for the win.

Johnny Gargano became the new and the first two-time North American champion with some spooky interruptions befitting the Halloween theme.
