As one of the most polarising figures in the current wrestling realm, it seems like wherever CM Punk goes, controversy follows him. After a shattering AEW release due to an All-In backstage brawl with Jack Perry, Punk is still the subject of criticism. This time, his long-term peer, Matt Hardy’s wife, Reby Hardy, struck hard, making a witty use of Punk’s current testing phase. Reby Hardy, a retired wrestler, has been an open detractor of the Second City Saint ever since the infamous The Elite-CM Punk brawl emerged in the mix. The real-life sweetheart of one-half of the Hardy Boyz sang no differently than her husband and ended up siding with The Elite in the scuffle.

The rumor mill also recently revealed that Punk had something to do with barring Big Money Matt from turning up at Collision. Clearly, everything has not been sugar-coated between the two stars lately. Given the hot air surrounding it, it’s quite obvious that Hardy isn’t going to miss Punk on the roster at all. Now, adding to the fuss, his wife blatantly termed Punk an ‘idiot’.

Half of the wrestling world is currently fuming with rage at Tony Khan’s dramatic gambit to expel the 44-year-old wrestler. On the flip side, the other half seems to be blissful at the fall of Punk. The Hardy family belongs to the second half.

CM Punk always attracts either the extremely positive or extremely negative in the wrestling world. People are hardly seen dropping neutral stances on him. Representing the broader group of Punk haters, Hardy’s wife, Reby Hardy, was overt in her opinion.

The caption of a recent TikTok video of her reads somewhat like this, ”Us bothering her Daddy while he’s busy at work and dealing with idiots like CM Punk while we’re chilling at him eating snacks.”

The attack was as glaring as it should be from her own point of view, of course.

As soon as Khan spilled the news of CM Punk’s firing, The Young Bucks laced up their boots in a debut match in Collision.

Although The Bucks and the rest of The Elite had been kept aside from AEW’s weekly shows so far prompting a soft brand split, the same doesn’t seem true anymore. With Punk no more in the equation, The Elite seems to be taking up their place on the AEW mantel.
