On the March 11th match of SmackDown during a tag team match, Big E got his neck broken. Ridge Holland gave Big E an overhead belly-to-belly suplex at ringside, but the spot went wrong and Big E accidentally landed on his head. After the incident, Big E is still recovering from his injury for months.

The Triple Crown Champion revealed his dating life after the injury in an Apple Podcast Out Of The Character With Ryan Satin. He spoke about how hard it is to go out and meet new people with a neck brace.

“I spent 12 weeks in a neck brace … Now you’re just a charity case. You’re a pity case. I can’t go on dates with a neck brace … I haven’t gone on a date or anything, but it’s only been a month that I’m out and about, but I’m seeing people.” said Big E.
Big E on his recovery from the broken neck
It’s been almost 5 months since Big E’s crucial neck injury. While talking on the podcast, Big E gave some positive news to his fans.
“It appears to be healing fibrously. […] It’s good enough that they’re (Doctors) not worried about me in my day-to-day life, they’re cool with clearing me, like I don’t need a brace anymore … But, I’m not cleared to, you know, be taking off and hitting suicide spears. They want to take a look at it again after a year. […] The upside is right now I have no nerve issues, there is no tingling, no weakness. I’ve been in the gym since two weeks after breaking my neck,” Big E said.

It seems like Big E won’t be returning to the ring anytime soon. The injury that he suffered is severe and it will almost take a year for him to fully recover. An injury like that would make only a few people want to return to pro wrestling.
The superstars in pro wrestling should be respected for the amount of dedication and hard work they do for the sake of entertainment.
