Shinsuke Nakamura is one of the few pro wrestlers in the WWE locker room, who truly live up to the title WWE Superstar. The entire arena bursts into humming his theme even after the music ends. However, all of this took a lot of struggle and hard work to build. Which of course, often involved several costly mistakes. Now, another Japanese wrestling superstar, Kazuchika Okada, is making his way to the US and is from NJPW just like Nakamura.

Interestingly, while Okada and Nakamura are former allies, Kazuchika Okada may choose to not join him in WWE and join Tony Khan’s AEW instead. Despite this, The King of Strong Style revealed that he had some valuable input to share with him.

Shinsuke Nakamura recently appeared for an interview with Tokyo Sports where he was asked about Kazuchika Okada’s US move. More importantly, Nakamura was asked for his take on Okada’s NJPW exit. Speaking about it, the 43-year-old noted that this transition will lead to several questions that Kazuchika Okada will need to ask himself.

According to Shinsuke Nakamura, “How do you view your life, who you are, what you want to become? Only you can make that decision, so the courage to take the step that Okada took…I feel like (Antonio) Inoki when I say it, but once you’ve taken the step, you have no choice but to go on.” However, he also noted that he won’t leave Kazuchika Okada to fend for himself.

The King of Strong Style noted, “Of course, I will support him, and if there is anything I can do, I will do it.” Nakamura also noted that he doesn’t want Kazuchika Okada to follow his path. That he will help his CHAOS teammate avoid the same pitfalls he had succumbed to.

He said, “That’s part of it, and also the invisible procedures. There were a lot of hardships I had to go through that I should not have had to go through. I don’t want him to have to go through that, and I hope he will be spoiled.” Interestingly, while Kazuchika Okada will be new to this, Nakamura still seems to be dealing with those problems. Especially with WWE having solidified several things in its setup.

The strong barriers that exist in the WWE

WWE is currently in a time where it is keeping its championships with just one face for a long time. It isn’t just the absentee Universal Champion Roman Reigns, but Seth Rollins and Gunther are also enjoying very long runs. Shinsuke Nakamura recently had a go at Rollins’ crown after a long while, but he didn’t win. But, he was a 3x IWGP Heavyweight champ in NJPW.

The only WWE Superstar who is making real progress is Cody Rhodes, and he had to start a whole new pro wrestling company to prove his worth. LA Knight is the only other man who has received sufficient fanfare to warrant multiple goes at Reigns’ title, but Knight’s case is very rare. It would be interesting to see if Okada can replicate such a feat with the hype he has behind him.
