“Kicked Him in the Nuts”: John Cena Wants to Change One Major Moment from His WWE Debut After Two Long Decades

It’s John Cena’s 20-year anniversary WWE career month and as a tribute, the company is posting multiple memorable moments of him. John Cena debuted on June 27, 2002, when he stormed out on SmackDown to accept the challenge made by Kurt Angle to the WWE roster.

Cena’s debut is marked as the dawn of ‘The Ruthless Aggression Era’. Kurt Angle asked Cena what makes The Cenation leader better than him. Cena said that it was his ruthless aggression that makes him better than Angle and punched him.

Cena eventually lost the match but was over the fans in the arena. He also convinced many backstage officials and WWE superstars that he was the next major thing in the company.

John Cena thinks his after in-ring segment should have been different

John Cena had the best debut match against Kurt Angle in 2002. After the match, Billy Kidman, Faarooq, Rikishi congratulated Cena, and the then WWE Undisputed Champion, The Undertaker, also came forward to appreciate him. Cena recently, in a QnA session with WWE, reacted to his debut and said his first meeting with The Undertaker should have been different on that night.

WWE shared the post on their Instagram saying, “@johncena reveals what he would have done differently on the night of his debut in a brand-new episode of WWE Playback. #CenaMonth.”

Cena in the video said, “You know here I’m marveling at my own hand as The Undertaker shook my hand. If I really embodied, I should have kicked him in the nuts or bowed to him and said I’m going to take that championship from you in a week or so.”

John Cena’s debut is today considered one of the major and most memorable debuts in WWE. There was a rough patch in his career after his debut, but he overcame it with his love for hip-hop. Cena debuted as the Doctor of Thuganomics and since then had a career that only went in an upward direction.

The 16-time World Champion will return to WWE on June 27, 2022 episode of RAW which will be Live from Laredo, Texas. He will celebrate his 20 years with the WWE Universe and remember some of his iconic moments.

Theory is waiting for Cena’s return

The current United States Champion Theory is eager to have a match with John Cena and it’s not a secret. He has time and again called out Cena through social media. 

On Twitter, he shared a video of the same QnA video recently. In the video, Cena said Theory is his current favorite superstar in WWE. Also, Cena claimed Theory should get an Attitude Adjustment in WWE now, this hints at a possible match between the two very soon.

There are rumors of John Cena and Austin Theory have a match for the US Title at SummerSlam. The feud could start on the June 27 episode of RAW when Cena returns.
