In a recent (May 20, 2021) interview with WWE “The Bump“, Drew McIntyre was invited as a guest on the show. Among the various other topics discussed, Kofi Kingston’s win over Bobby Lashley was one of them.

Speaking on ‘The Dreadlocked Dynamo’, McIntyre said that if Kofi wants that opportunity, which Drew knows he does, then Kofi deserves it. McIntyre stated,

“I’ve always said, I’m always gonna be fighting, I’m always gonna be fighting to be front of the line and all you have to do is earn the right to get the title match. Kofi has earned the right.”

McIntyre continued hanging around ringside because he had a feeling something fishy was going to go down. ‘The Scottish Psychopaths‘ gut feeling was true, as Lashley and MVP tried to pull a fast one on Kofi while Xavier Woods distracted the ref.

Drew said that ‘The New Day’ are his guys and as the ‘Big D’, he was always going to look out for them.

Staying true to his words, ‘Big D’ was there in a flash to make sure ‘The Almighty‘ and MVP pulled no shenanigans. The Scott stated that if Kofi, after winning the match, wants the first opportunity at Lashley, then he is more than welcome to do so.

What is next for The Scot?

During the interview, McIntyre stated that he will keep prodding till he gets his singles rematch with ‘The Almighty’ Bobby Lashley. Now, as we all can see, Drew McIntyre’s top priority is becoming the WWE Champion for the third time in his career.

But what McIntyre needs to keep in mind is that Bobby Lashley is more than capable of defending his championship. He is a freak of nature when it comes to being an athlete. Only time will tell if the championship changes hands. For now, the fans can only speculate.
