On the latest episode of The Kurt Angle Show on AdFreeShows.com, Ishan Chavan of EssentiallySports asked Kurt Angle about TNA’s decision to put him in a feud against Steiner instead of challenging Christian Cage immediately after the unusual finish at the Against All Odds PPV.
Ishan Chavan of EssentiallySports asked if it was something that he didn’t want to do or was it the management’s decision.
Addressing this question, Angle said, “Management. I think they wanted me to get away from the NWA World Title at the time. They didn’t want me to win it right away, and they wanted me to go off and do a program with Scott Steiner.”
“I thought that made great sense because it did get me away from the world title for a couple of months. And then I had the build-up for my world title eventually,” he added.
Further, Kurt admitted he needed a program with Scott Steiner. He claimed he needed a good win after he lost to Christian, and his win against Steiner was a good win for him.
At the Destination X PPV in 2007, Kurt Angle defeated Scott Steiner. Later, he would once again challenge for the world title.
