“That was for me to get the rub. The Rock was the biggest superstar that I’ve ever known. Him and Stone Cold. Now we all know Dwayne as the Rock, but how did he come to be known as such? Well, in an episode of WIRED, he revealed that initially he was named “Rocky Maivia”. The name was a combination of his dad’s first name and his grandfather’s last name. The reason was that both of them were pro-wrestlers and Vince McMahon like the name.
