The UFC-WWE merger had several fans very excited. This is particularly because it has created an atmosphere where fans are waiting for a cross-promotional event. Even before the merger, the interactions and mentions between WWE and UFC fans have been inevitable. However, after Endeavor’s deal with WWE, every incident may appear to hint at the possibility of a big happening.
Considering this, former WWE champion Becky Lynch mentioning Conor McGregor during a show should have had fans fired up and excited. However, the lack of buzz is easily explained by what Lynch said about McGregor, which had little to do with the legendary fighter’s WWE debut.

What did Lynch say about Conor McGregor?
In a recent clip going viral on the internet, Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch are seen talking on what appears to be an ESPN show. The married couple starts playing a game where they have to list five names of people who could be great WWE heels. The couple ranked five sports personalities on the show. Here’s the list in descending order: Aaron Rodgers, Sean O’Malley, LeBron James, Katie Taylor, and Bill Belichick.
When enquired about why Conor McGregor didn’t make the list, Lynch replied with, “Well, you know, I think that was obvious.” Her husband added by saying that they wanted the list to be a complete “surprise”. Irish boxer Katie Taylor’s spot on the list was interesting as McGregor is also Irish. Instead of sticking to the ‘Irish’ angle and going with McGregor, she gave away yet another spot to UFC fighter, Sean O’Malley. ‘The Man’ said, “There was maybe only room for one Irish person on the list. So, Katie Taylor gets the vote”. In fact, it appears she even chose an NBA star, LeBron James, over The Notorious.
Although Lynch didn’t acknowledge Conor McGregor’s WWE potential, her husband’s past rival already considers him a worthy opponent.

WWE heel calls out Conor McGregor
Seth Rollins’ old rival and popular WWE heel, Dolph Ziggler, made full use of the Endeavor deal to go viral on Twitter. The wrestler tweeted against The Irishman following the WWE-UFC merger. Usually, it’s McGregor who picks online feuds. However, this time around, Ziggler made the first move and tweeted against him. Although the call-out hasn’t gained much traction, it surely hyped up some fans who were eagerly waiting for some interaction between the stars of the two promotions.
