The main event match between Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles for the WWE Undisputed Universal title was an instant classic. From the storytelling aspect of the match, with Styles wearing the same type of gear he did when he defeated Dusty Rhodes, to the match itself. There was a ton of content that the fans loved. During the media scrum, Rhodes said, “He left a lil ding on my shoulder that perhaps I’d like to return the favor.” Since WWE SmackDown, fans have speculated that Rhodes is suffering from a shoulder injury. This line confirms what fans have been speculating. The shoulder injury came during the match between Rhodes and Carmelo Hayes who was drafted to the blue brand thanks to the WWE Draft 2024.
