Edge on Beth Phoenix Returning at WWE Day 1: “We’re a Pretty Bada** Couple”

Edge and The Miz went head-to-head with one another at WWE Day 1 after weeks of personal jabs. Edge was determined to defeat Miz, whereas the latter wanted to earn the respect of everyone.

Both men performed admirably during the match, and in the end, Edge emerged victorious.

With Maryse at her husband’s side, there were bound to be several tricks up their sleeves. But the Rated-R superstar with years of experience could not be fooled. As Maryse’s distractions struck a nerve, out came Edge’s wife and Hall of Famer, Beth Phoenix, to help him out.

Meanwhile, The A-Lister tried to help his wife out, but that cost him. Edge, in a surprise attack, speared him and won the match.

Edge and Beth Phoenix talk about taking The Miz and Maryse down.

Beth and Edge talked about their victory in a backstage interview following the match. The interviewer said that the Miz might have had Maryse, but the former WWE champion had a support system of his own in the form of The Glamazon.

“Yeah, I got an ace in the hole. Some might call her an enforcer. I have someone that Maryse does not want to deal with, The Glamazon, Beth Phoenix, who happens to be my wife. I gotta say we’re a pretty bad*ss couple.” The Rated-R superstar said.

Edge hopes that The Miz and Maryse tuck their tails and run back to Hollywood after the loss. Meanwhile, the interviewer focused on Beth and asked her why she interfered tonight out of all days.

Beth talked about how she had seen enough of Maryse’s antics.
