Mick Foley Recalls the Time When He Fell Victim to WWE’s Fondness Towards Donald Trump During the Former’s HoF Induction: “Hurt My Feelings”

The WWE Universe knows the importance of the Hall of Fame induction. It is considered the pinnacle of pro wrestling. However, things go upside down many a time during the event. A similar incident happened in the year 2013 when Mick Foley, one of the biggest stars of the Attitude Era, got inducted into the 2013 WWE HOF. But his big moment was soon shattered into pieces by another big name in the United States, Donald Trump. 

There’s no denying the fact that Trump was and still is a big name in American politics. However, at that time he wasn’t elected as the United States president but was a massive name in pop culture. His friendship with the then-WWE owner, Vince McMahon, was a well-known fact. And because of this, he has appeared on WWE a few times. All of this then got the political leader to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame’s class of 2013. This might have been a great day for Trump, but definitely not for Mick Foley, as he is still livid over it.

Speaking on a recent episode of his podcast named Foley Is Pod, the WWE legend talked about one of the worse experiences in WWE. He explained the entire situation and how he felt about it. Not only that but then he also shed some light upon his furious reaction to it on social media.

Foley said, “I found myself feeling left out. USA I guess made the decision, or at least I’d heard they made the decision that they were going to edit the show. In order to show Donald Trump’s speech, they were going to ixnay the Foley speech, and I let it get to me. 

“It really hurt my feelings to the point where I remember calling up my wife and saying. ‘I don’t want anyone from my family coming to the Hall of Fame. I don’t want it to be important enough to bother me,” he added. 

This was one disheartening situation for The Hardcore Legend after being a top talent over the years in the pro wrestling business. The entire episode got stuck to his heart and mind so badly that Foley then took it to social media. However, he soon realized his mistake. 

The Unpredictable had to apologize for his furious actions

While opening his heart on the shattering episode from 2023 HOF, The Unpredictable also pointed out his mistake. He talked about how he took the entire case to Twitter while kvetching about it. 

However, he also mentioned the apology he made. Foley went to Mr. McMahon’s office where Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, along with Kevin Dunn were present. He then apologized for his actions. 

But it wasn’t the end of his grumbling. He often made anti-trump remarks, one of which received an astonishing reaction from McMahon as well.
