The entire wrestling world went into shock as WWE announced the release of Bray Wyatt aka The Fiend. It’s a shocking development for two reasons. One, Wyatt was WWE’s biggest asset in recent memory. And two, his recent images show him in a phenomenal shape, looking ring-ready. However, none of it happened.
Everyone from fans to fellow superstars and even wrestlers from other promotions chipped on with their thoughts on Bray Wyatt’s WWE release. While others expressed how sad they were knowing the news, Mickie James took it a notch higher as she didn’t back down from expressing her true feelings.

She wrote WWE should have thanked him publicly for coming up with such incredible gimmicks time and time again, especially The Fiend. Mickie added WWE did not know how to book Wyatt/The Fiend, but they gave the gimmick to Alexa Bliss and are making money off of it while they release the original creator due to ‘budget cuts.’
Mickie James further clarified she has nothing against Alexa Bliss and in fact, loves her. She added that every artist/wrestler takes up any role they’re given and turns it to gold. Alexa did the same. However, she also stated that the fact still remains and it is that WWE took Bray Wyatt’s gimmick and gave it to Alexa.
This isn’t against Alexa. I love her. She’s an incredible performer who is killing it in a role she was given. She always does. We as artists take every role we’re given & turn it into gold. He, she, they both did that. Like it/not. Facts are facts. So sorry if that offends you.

Alexa Bliss herself was devastated following Bray Wyatt’s WWE release. She even made her Twitter account private to avoid any interactions during a difficult time like this. After all, we all know how extensively Bliss and Wyatt worked together.

As of now, the belief is WWE released Bray Wyatt due to budget cuts. There is no update on how and why it happened considering Wyatt was preparing to return in August. However, one thing is for sure, we must wait to know the entire truth before coming to conclusions. Who knows? It could be the re-birth of kayfabe!
