The star landed in some serious trouble following some allegations made against him back in 2020. Following that, the promotion wrote him off television. This prompted fans to think that the higher-ups at WWE, Triple H, and Vince McMahon had combined their efforts to save the star. However, that was not the case as the former WWE star cleared the air on what actually led to his departure.

Velveteen Dream highlights the disparity between truth and rumors

Talking with Chris Van Vliet on his podcast, the former WWE NXT North American Champion highlighted the original statement told by Triple H. According to the official statement, the reason why Clark Jr was out of action was due to a car accident that the star was in just a few days before the allegations levied against him became public. The former WWE star further added, WWE is a country that caters to children. They sell t-shirts and hats and wristbands and toys and belts and all types of things that will entice a younger audience.”

“No one’s bigger than WWE they’re not going to do all of that. I mean I’ve got an ego but even my ego ain’t that big to be delusional in a case like that,” he said.

One take at a time

For me pro wrestling has two things that I like the most, storytelling and fighting. Let?s just say movies are failing to keep me entertained in those departments. I grew up watching WWF and not WWE and any hardcore fan will agree that the two are not the same, but I love both iterations.
