

One of the greatest pro wrestlers of all-time, Hulk Hogan, is a name etched for the history books. He was the face of the company for a long period and won various accolades.
Apart from Vince McMahon, Hogan was another vital reason behind WWF going from a regional company to an International giant.
The 69-year-old enjoyed a massive fan following his peak. His impressive physique and outstanding promo abilities helped him a lot in becoming a top star for the company. It was also his determination and dedication to work hard that took him to superior levels.

Before becoming a pro wrestler, Hulk Hogan used to be a musician, and even had a band of his own. However, he would leave his band behind and visit Hiro Matsuda’s training centre for training under him. Matsuda’s training centre was called the ‘Snake Pit’ and Hogan soon would know why.
While training under him, Hogan underwent a tough time. He had to face a rigorous training routine and undergo severe pain before passing through the training routine. One unfortunate incident occurred during his training there, that made Hogan get sidelined for around 10 weeks.

In his book, “Hollywood Hulk Hogan“, Hogan recollected the experience. He wrote, “Before I knew it, Matsuda was sitting down between my legs and putting his elbow in the middle of my shin. Then he grabbed the end of my toe and twisted my foot until-crack!-my shinbone broke in half. The whole thing took about two seconds.”
He claimed that the incident had left him in “hurt and confused”, as to why Matsuda did that, but he also received the reality check of how much he still had to learn.

His training under Hiro Matsuda was a literal nightmare. He often had to undergo severe pain and suffering. While Matsuda was a tough trainer willing to make his students suffer pain, Hogan was a non-quitter as well.

Despite several rigorous training moments, and painful moves, Hogan refused to quit, and came back stronger everytime.
He further detailed how his moment of agony was a great enjoyment time for The Brisco Brothers. Hogan said, “I just remember being in excruciating pain and hearing the Briscos laugh at me. I was their favorite form of entertainment.”

He told in a sarcastic manner, that he was happy to enlighten their day, because they were not being able to do his.
