WWE wrestlers have recently played Marvel/DC roles to perfection, and the movie industry might trust wrestlers with superhero roles. Having seen Dave Bautista playing Drax, Dwayne Johnson playing The Rock, and John Cena playing Peacemaker, there seems to be a growing amount of wrestlers going to Hollywood to play heroes. And another name would’ve been added to the credits of Black Panther Wakanda Forever.

Black Panther Wakanda Forever is one of the biggest movies to release this year. Not only is the movie a sequel to the previous outing but also a farewell to the late great actor, Chadwick Boseman, who played Black Panther in the prior movies. Marvel fans and the mainstream public were anticipating this movie ever since it was announced. And looking at the box office numbers and the figures, the movie didn’t disappoint. But playing a part in the movie is a grand honor and this WWE superstar was pitching to get his name on the books as well.

WWE star tried out for a role in Black Panther Wakanda Forever

According to Sean Sapp, Damian Priest tried to get into the movie. But as he said, “Sources familiar with the situation say that Damian Priest was asked to read for the role of Namor. One of the most heavily featured roles in the film, or one of the other featured members of Talokan. We haven’t heard if the read actually took place, but an inquiry was made.

Damian Priest is one of the young promising talents who recently shifted from NXT to the main roster. He is part of the Judgement Day faction, which is the biggest one on Monday Night Raw. While his wrestling skills are definitely worth watching, he still has a place to improve his mic skills and acting chops. So it’s no wonder that he didn’t get the role in Black Panther Wakanda Forever.

One of the biggest roles in the movie was Namor, the king of Talokan and the antagonist in the movie. The role must have been a highly contested one, as Marvel was looking for a Mexican actor to play the part. But Damian Priest, while being of Mexican descent, has no prior acting projects other than pro wrestling. So it’s no surprise that he didn’t get the part.
