John Cena’s involvement in Barbie, conflicting with ‘Coyote vs. Acme,’ may have influenced the initial cancellation. Cena’s role as the ACME boss clashed with his appearance in Barbie, prompting strategic decisions to avoid further losses. Moreover, it was reported by shelving the movie, Warner Bros would save $30 million as a tax write-off and also save the expenses incurred on marketing and distribution of the movie.

The film’s release, initially set for July 12th, was likely scrapped to mitigate additional financial setbacks for Warner Bros.
