

The Rock is popularly known for his stint in WWE as a wrestler and as a top-tier actor in Hollywood. However, Dwayne Johnson had initially started his career as a football player in college. He played as a defensive tackle but could not make much of a name in the sport.

The Great One always had an interest in football, and it was clear when he sat down with Kelley Carter for a special edition of The Undefeated Roundtable in 2019. Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart were present at the show and spoke about their favourite teams and other sport related questions.
When Carter asked both of them about which news headline in sports has them currently captivated, both of them said Colin Kaepernick. The situation arose when Kaepernick was training ahead of his NFL return and was supposed to attend a training session by the NFL. Instead; he changed the venue to high school in Georgia. NFL was disappointed at the outcome and they made it known.
When Dwayne Johnson spoke about this issue, he described the situation as “Polarizing.” He continued, “You know, ultimately it would have come around to this. You know, We are athletes by nature and love the world of sports, and all sports.”
The Rock continued, “But this one in particular of course, it’s a close one to us and also because ultimately what i think it comes down to ‘how badly do you want to play the game? And on a business level for the other NFL owners is ‘how badly do you want Kap in the game too,’ because obviously he can still ball.”
Colin Kaepernick was one of the best football quarterbacks, and played for San Francisco 49ers, but is currently a free agent. Kaepernick is currently a civil rights activist, and it would be interesting to see if he makes his comeback for the game.
Dwayne Johnson almost killed one of his football teammates
Johnson was a talented football player for the Miami Hurricanes. He played as a defensive tackle. Although a talented player, he mostly was a backup for his position. But even playing as a backup defensive tackle, Johnson won the 1991 National championship with his team.
During an interview with
Sports Illustrated, The Rock once revealed how he was always angry. Speaking in the interview, The Rock revealed how he had once almost pulled the tongue out of a teammate. He described the situation as a result of him losing ‘it’.He said that he was always angry with his playing time, which resulted in him boiling over with his teammate, Kevin Patrick. The Rock said,
“It was like a movie fight — the desk got turned over, stuff was flying all over the place. We spilled out onto the weight room floor, still going at it.”ADVERTISEMENT

The People’s Champ continued, “He wouldn’t stop talking, so I decided to pull his tongue out. I stuffed my big ol’ hand into his mouth, and I had a couple of fingers around his tongue, but it was so damn slippery!”.

However, he stated that the fight eventually ended and a couple of minutes later; they were hugging each other.
