A proper feel of a WWE match is incomplete without a spot-on commentary. The commentators play an important role not only in WWE but in any sport. Without them, a game would feel monotonous. Recently Pat McAfee, who was an essential part of the Friday night SmackDown commentator box, decided to leave WWE.

Pat McAfee, also known as Boomstick, is a man with many talents. From being an NFL player to a WWE analyst, McAfee is successful in making his mark in every field he stepped into. Currently, the Boomstick has made news again when it was confirmed that he would be joining ESPN’s College GameDay.

The fans went crazy about this news and the discussion about who will replace McAfee started on the Internet. But the new Chief Content Officer seemed unaffected by this news. Triple H wrote on his Twitter handle, “We’d never stand in Pat’s way, as he continues to architect his exceptional career.”

Triple H stated that Pat McAfee approached the WWE about his new opportunity and the management gave him the green light.

McAfee has played the NFL for 8 years and was part of ESPN’s Thursday night college football. This new football gig would be more like a homecoming for 35 years old Pat McAfee.

The future of McAfee in the WWE and his replacement

As soon as the news of Pat McAfee leaving the WWE was confirmed, the rumors of will replace McAfee in SmackDown began. However, Triple H made it clear in his tweet that Pat’s likely to return to SmackDown soon as he is still a part of WWE. “Pat will remain a member of the @WWE Universe and we look forward to his return.”

Meanwhile, SmackDown will need a co-commentator alongside Michael Cole. A Twitter account stated that Corey Graves might be covering SmackDown alongside Raw until the return of McAfee. Graves might be a good choice for the job, as he is already rocking the Raw roster with his commentary.

Triple H has proven himself as a good leader as he didn’t try to stop McAfee from joining ESPN. Pat McAfee has only taken a short leave from WWE to join ESPN. His return will be much awaited by his fans.
