

The WWE ring has seen great comebacks of wrestlers after their long pause with the company. Lately, in Triple H’s reign, fans have witnessed several wrestlers return to the roster.
This led all of us to hope for the former World Champion to get another run with the promotion. However, as per reports, all hopes are shattered, as Alberto Del Rio won’t be back anytime soon.

The rumors of him returning to WWE had caught plenty of attention from everyone. However, the terms on which Rio was released from the company in 2016 were quite serious. It was due to his own actions that cost him his career in WWE.
Hopes shattered of Former WWE champion’s return
While all different speculations were going on about the former WWE wrestler, a report by Fightful Select clarified everything. As the WWE sources stated, them about having absolutely no chance of Rio stepping into the WWE.

“Fightful was told that those that would need to be in favor of Del Rio to hire haven’t been keen on him since well before his WWE exit.”

This piece of information reflects that not even his well-wishers who reside in WWE do not support his return. Rio’s equation with authority people was not so good even before his exit in 2016. Unfortunately, the relationship they share is still the same. In that case, his entry to the promotion becomes tougher than ever.
No serious talk regarding Rio’s return
On the one hand, people get to hear what the company is thinking. But on the other hand, the 45-year-old wrestler had his hopes high. Even though he himself confronted that, he had no conversation with the new administration.
However, in an interview with Steve Fall for WrestlingNews.co, Del Rio said that he has been on a couple of calls with John Laurinaitis. He also added, “That didn’t go anywhere.”

Similar to what Alberto said, one WWE executive said that there were, “never any serious conversations or pitches” to bring Del Rio back. He adds that even when Vince McMahon was still running WWE’s creative department, there was no such exchange of ideas.
The same executives added, “There’s no fucking way that happens” about a Del Rio return. This blunt statement of the official takes us back to when Alberto Del Rio was released from the company. The company released him first in 2014, citing “unprofessional conduct and an altercation with an employee.” as the reason.

But after two years, he made his return in 2015. However, he had a brief run during this time, as he was released for the second time. This time he was released after being suspended for 30 days or violating the company’s wellness policy.
