While he has given us some of the most memorable moments in the history of WWE, The Undertaker is not the same man he was 3 decades ago. His body and athleticism aren’t as precise or clean as when he was a young guy. But that isn’t something that would stop someone like Taker from striving for better every second of his life. While many people would’ve enjoyed after his defeat at the hands of Brock Lesnar, Taker kept wrestling.

But after another defeat, this time at the hands of Roman Reigns, things were slowly starting to end for Taker. But just like his character, time and again, Taker would get up and fight. His last match was against AJ Styles in a Boneyard match at WrestleMania 36. Not only was the match a banger and extremely enjoyable, Taker and Styles played their characters greatly.
The Undertaker once resolved to do better, even after retiring from WWE
For the promotion of his documentary, The Last Ride, the Undertaker was panting in a training video that WWE posted two years ago. But he mentioned, “Nobody else feels sorry for me. I’m not gonna feel sorry for myself. I shouldn’t have been in the ring last year (WrestleMania 33) simple as that. It won’t happen again. You can bet that.”
While his last match was in 2020, WWE held off on giving a proper farewell to The Undertaker, until the pandemic restrictions were lifted. So, in 2022 at the Hall of Fame ceremony, Taker was given a full-fledged farewell. Here he laid down his costume and said farewell to his creation as well. But Mark Calaway, the man who played Taker, is still a part of the wrestling industry.
